The painting conveys Caylen's fear of both abandonment by her friends and being different. In this painting, Caylen's friends are represented through the figures with blue eyes. These figures are wearing nice clothing to convey that they are successful and grown up, unlike the brown-eyed figure representing Caylen Faith herself, which is naked showing vulnerability. The heart in this painting conveys there is a romance budding between the two blue-eyed characters. The number two written in that heart shows love is only possible between two people which will lead to the brown-eyed figures' abandonment; and as we see in the painting the brown-eyed figure is desraught over losing her friends.
